Be the Example

"So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus." (Ephesians 2:7)

We are the examples of God's grace and kindness. We should be able to point to our lives, or someone should be able to point to us, as an example of God's grace and kindness. Is that true for you? Do you conduct yourself in such a way that you could be considered an example? 

"Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News." (Philippians 1:27)

If you were to talk with someone about God, could you draw from your life examples of God's grace and kindness? You've been saved by the blood of Jesus, which all Christians have in common. But, what difference has Jesus' forgiveness of your sins and His redemption of you made in your life? I had two missed opportunities over the weekend to speak with someone about Christ: I let fear take over when I could have pointed to my own life as an example of God's great grace and kindness. 

"Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things He does for me." (Psalms 103:2)

In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." (Matthew 5:16)

Let us not forget that we represent God and our lives should point others to Him. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
