“So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.”

- 1 Peter 1:14-15

I recently came across a photo of a celebrity in which grid lines had been placed all over her face and the question below the photo was "Is so-and-so perfect?" I immediately thought of 1 Samuel 16:7: "People judge by outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart." I hope this person never sees that image or reads whatever article may be attached to it. It doesn't matter what people say about us. What God says about us matters most because He knows us better than anyone.

"For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." (Ephesians 2:10)

I was telling my daughter about this verse the other day and she asked me, "What's a masterpiece?" I told her, "A masterpiece is the greatest thing God made. We are the greatest thing God made." She and I were both smiling ear to ear. Take that to heart today: you are the greatest thing God has ever made—His masterpiece. After all, Jesus died because He didn't want eternity without you.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
